The Ark: Symbol of God's Protection


Gen. 6:8-18 & 7:1
Into: I'd like us to look at the Ark of God as a symbol of The coming vessel that contains our salvation through Jesus Christ. The ark was God sign into man that he would protect and be with man {ISREAL} unto the establishment of the new convenant. It was the Phy. Manifestation of the old Covenant with man. While Christ was to be the spiritual ark in the new convent between man and God.

Vs 8 NOAH FOUND GRACE IN THE EYES OF THE LORD.

VS 18 WITH THEE WILL I ESTABLISH MY CONVENANT: AND THOU COME INTO THE ARK

VS 1 COME THOU AND ALL THY HOUSE INTO THE ARK: FOR THEE HAVE I SEEN RIGHTOUS BEFORE ME.

I. The ark as a sheltering convenant for Man.. Time of Noah
A}. Shelter from: Righteous anger of God..Becouse of:
1. Man's sin... Adam to us.
2. Man's violence in the world of God's creation.
3. Man's willful disobedience and turning away
From the love of God.

B}.God's plan for Destruction
1. Destroy all by Flood.
2. Only those found within the ark would be saved.
3. Any creature or man who was not with the ark
Was lost destroyed.

C}. The ark was a shelter for the Righteous of God.
Heb 11:7 "NOAH BY FAITH BECAME HEIR TO THE
RIGHTOUSNESS OF GOD

1. Those who had found grace in God's sight were
Spared.
2. Those who keep his will in a crypt world were
Called to come out and be spared.

D}. The ark was a place of Protection in the midst of
Destruction, and God Judgment on the earth.
1. His word tells us that God remembered Noah
And spared him with a wind upon the sea. Gen. 8:1

II. The ark used again to provide protection for a deliverer
Of Israel. Ex. 2:3-6

A}. Used as a means to protect Moses as an Infant.
1. A child under the sentence of Death.
2. As we all are because of sin.

B: The ark carred Moses into the arms of someone who
could spare his life.
1. The Cross Bears us into the arms of Christ
In much the same manner today.
2. Only Christ can spare our lives.

III. God Provided Moses with the direction for the ark of
the convenat Ex. 25: 10-28

A}. It was to be a purified receptacle for the:
1. Written law of God.
2. A witness unto man of the convenant between
Man and God.
3. It was an ever-present symbol of God's presence.

B}. Designed so that it could be carried with man.
1. Made of purest God.
2. Made in such a way that it could be carried were
Israel went...Without being Defiled by man.

C}. The ark went before:
1. The armies of Israel Num. 10:35
2. The people of Israel in their Journey to the
Promised Land...Went before them in the cross
Of the River Jordan Josh 3:15

D}. The ark of he Convent was the place where the Mercy
And the law of God meets.
1. The Top was the seat of Mercy for Man use.
2. The ark was the Vessel that contained the law
Of God where by man would be forever judged.

IV. The Ark was to be before all Israel till the promise of
Of the new covenant should be established Jer. 3:16-17

A}. The new covenant was to be manifested in the person
Of Jesus Christ.
1. Found in the Shed Blood.
2. Granted in the resurrection of the Person of Jesus.

B}. The new vessel is to be found within the Heart of Man.
1. Christ is to live within each Heart.
2. The Holy Spirit is the witness we have of the
New convenant that can be carried where ever
We may go.

V. Like the ark of Old:
A}. Mercy and the law meet..
1. In the hearts of man..Instead in a material Vassal
2. In the cleansing purifying Blood of the lamb...
Forgiveness is manifested in each heart.


B}. Like he ark upon the water the more we place in the
Safer it become.
